Vote for Callie & Lola so I can help feed shelter dogs

  • Blue Buffalo is hosting a Halloween photo contest, and the winner gets a year's supply of Blue Buffalo. If my picture wins, I will donate the food to a shelter.

    Thank you!

  • LOVED the costume, so it was an easy vote. And, if you're looking to donate food to needy dogs, might I suggest a basenji-related rescue group especially if they give out coupons/certificates instead of the actual bag. I know Colorado Basenji rescue has a glut of dog in right now. I'd imagine Medfly or BRAT are also needy. (I just sent CBR a coupon for a bag of food that Zest won, much to Z's dismay as she was looking forward to eating the entire bag in one sitting.)

I used Wisdom Panel for my assumed Basenji mix. It showed no basenji at all. My boy is 32 lbs and short hair. His DNA says he is 25% American Eskimo 12.5% Boston Terrier 12.5% Chow Chow 12.5% German Shepherd 12.5% Miniature Schnauzer 25% Breed Group-Sporting, Herding, Hound, Terrier. Having owned basenjis all my life I would say my boy has basenji in him by his personality and behavior regardless of what his dna says!!

Its not on my page. You go to "Allegro Dog Designs" & like their page first. Then you can like Callie's photo. And yes, the blanket is very comfy. Callie & Lola are usually under it haha.

Jennifer; Thank you for the reply. Exercise is not an issue as noted above. My 15 yr old runs 5 to 6 miles a day and the younger ones do about 3. We also walk a lot as it is a small town and the neighbors, most of whom are elderly, really enjoy dogs that don't yap at them. LOL Rick

I loved Mammoth Lakes! My B/W Nika was like that. Always looking for the spot to jump over the water. Did not like walking on wet grass. She'd tolerate a bath now and then as long as the water was nice and warm.

I looked up the dates for LGRA in August in Oberlin and I will on vacation that week in NC. I would like to meet up with you for a play date one weekend. Cody gets his staples out on Tues. (yeah) So after that I would be free most weekends until Aug 20. If you have suggestions on dog parks to go to let me know.

Nexa is full af. and she is very cautious in new situations. She is curious and wants to say hi to every dog or person we see, but if they approach her she will back away. The introductions have to go at her pace. We were on a walk the other day and she was desperate to investigate a cat laying in someone’s driveway. She just stood there staring at the cat from 5-6 feet away, as soon the cat came towards her she tucked her tail and ran like it was a lion after her. The cat might have weighed 8 pounds wet. She is wary, but with her curiosity she just can’t let things go.
