50% of 4 Basenji show females for sale

Basenjis For Sale or Wanted
  • I bred these amazing red and white Basenji puppy dogs out of a World Champion female and a BISS (Best In Speciality Show) male and they are too nice to sell as pet only so I want to show them all this comming summer in Canada and get Canadian Championship on all 4 of them. However, I can not afford the entry fees on all of them for the whole summer, so I am looking for a partner who would be willing to cover the showing expenses on one of them in exchange for half ownership of the dog. The dog can live with me or with you. It can be bred later on or not, that can be discussed privately. For more info contact Sanda Saunders at Africanadian Basenjis sandasaunders@gmail.com Both parents are Fanconi clear and these pups will get tested for everything before they are bred if they are bred. Obviously it all depends on how they grow. But so far the 4 of them are very nice and have a lot to offer.

Only available to a small breeding programm where the dogs live in the house as part of your family. Would consider shipping world wide as long as you can provide references as to your breeding practices and health testing practices.

All pups have been placed as responsible breeders have reservation lists. We are not at this time planning a litter for 2020 or 2021. I would be happy to talk to you about Basenjis. You can search for responsible breeders at www.basenji.org by state, however as far as I know all responsible breeders on the West Coast already have full reservation lists. You would be looking at litters possible in 2021. This is the time to connect with a responsible breeder and get on their reservation lists for 2021. And if you are looking for a dog that is hypoallergenic, Basenjis do shed and have dander so they are not really hypoallergenic. While they can do well with people with allergies, you need to spend time with them and more than one time. Be sure that you check out health testing yourself, regardless of what you might be advised. Tests for DNA testing is public knowledge at www.ofa.org. You need to have either a registration number or name to check this out for yourself to verify. I suggest all people looking for a Basenji, even my own, do this.

@helle-devi Thank you for responding. I have already been in touch with the basenji sisters. I was not aware before I contacted them that they are located in CA. I think the distance between us is too great. If things didn’t work out between my basenji and one of their girls, the distance would be a problem. I did become a member on the Facebook site that you recommended. Thank you so much! I was unaware that such a site existed. Jo Ann

@dagodingo - A very close friend told me after I lost one of my Basenji girls "you carry a piece of their soul in your heart forever"... I have always held on to that for all the Basenjis that I have watched cross the Rainbow Bridge

I have a cat and have added two Basenjis since she and I came together. She is in charge and I encourage her to "train" the dogs. Our male (Guppy a BRAT rescue) has given her a little more trouble than most dogs (I guess she gives him a pass because he's cute-I wish she wouldn't though!). We have our moments (Guppy is a teenager and living up to the name Mr. Grumpy Pants) but we seem to be getting along just fine.

@sharronhurlbut: Pat, I am not a "fan" of low cost spay/neuter places either…BUT IMO, they are less of a risk than having an intact basenji placed in the general public. I will post an article I just received re pet owners and getting their pets fixed in my next post. Re this note, to me, having the dog fixed at one of these places is the lesser of 2 evils. Yeah…what she said!
