  • Short and sweet! Thank you Lisa for kindly confirming what I originally said, with the exception of my ipad substituting fibula for femur when I first posted. It can be so annoying when that happens. You and Linda are so nice and helpful in clearing up the confusion!
But more importantly, does it make sense to you Dmey?

Does it finally make sense dmey?

  • Argh!!! iPad acting up again. I did NOT mean to ask twice Dmey; I apologize on my and my iPad's behalf!

  • Hahahahha, that is so funny , my iPad does that all the time, sometimes I forget I have it in Spanish and it starts to write all sorts of nonsense!!!!!
I am sorry to say, that now I am confused again, but…. Dont worry, I have a splitting headache, that I can't even see straight, so tomorrow I wil reread all this and figure it out... Thanks for the help. :-)

  • All I want for Christmass is not my 2 front teeth, it's lots of shelf and lots of second thigh!!! Thank you for all your free advice. I have a very clear picture of the type I am trying to set. Now I know how to describe it accurately. Back to "stalking" bloodlines with that particular type. In the long run I want to get involved with lure coursing and this type with lots of shelf and second thigh will be well suited to it. As well as attractive movement and looks in the conformation ring!!!! Just have to make sure I keep the temperament and health A+ and we are good to go.

I really loved that bitch from Australia, http://www.afrikenji.com/leeloo.html good job guys! I had heard good things about many Australian breeding programs and this confirms it.

@Rob5098 I don't in your area. Like Pat suggested, you can go here: https://www.basenji.org/joomla/index.php?option=com_content&view=category&layout=blog&id=111&Itemid=94 Check NY and NJ and any other state close enough for a drive.

To the OP, unless you do health testing, and then get a title on your dog, your best bet is to not breed. To do it right will cost you more than you could ever get in stud fees unless he is phenomenal. To Rosie.. wow. No. Contact BRAT and adopt a dog. The fair thing to your dog is to love her, spay her and not risk cancer, dying or complications from whelping and other issues. The responsible thing to your children isn't to become a backyard breeder creating puppies, but to show them you actually CARE about animals and not produce more. Unless of course you are willing to fork over the money required to do all the health testing (this is not your vet saying "she's fine" but rather hip xrays, Fanconi DNA, thyroid, heart etc!) AND pay for stud service to a dog who has also been tested (good luck with that– most reputable stud owners don't just breed to anyone).

@listeme: Knowing how fast technology changes and improves, I'd be hesitant to sign up for a program like this if I weren't going to be using it in a couple of years or less. Remember VCRs? Cassette tapes? Telephones that attach to walls? :D lol. ya i suppose you all are right. At first i thought about it, but i dont know. I guess its still a good thing if you have to do more than one chip in a dog. and i think they said the microchips are good forever (whether thats possible or not) I guess its still worth it for me, IMO. Since rescue and my personal dogs. I can use that amount of chips (in rescue) within a year or two. So…i think its a good deal. Whether it is or not...

I've been feeding 50% raw daily (raw in the evening only) and it made a remarkable improvement with Kananga. He used to have issues with loose stools, but honestly as soon as I started him on the raw, it improved significantly and now there are no problems. Soon enough I may make the transition to do 100% raw.

Well put, Dash. I don't think the issue was so much the language or tone in which the responses were delivered but more that they were not what webedoggies wanted to hear. And as a result webedoggies was instantly unwilling to consider advice coming from people highly qualified to give it. All we can hope for now is that he/she thinks twice.

I just happen to notice this thread. Anyone that has 224 adult dogs and 39 puppies on 3/30/11 does not raise wonderful, loving, behaved pets. She is a USDA licensed breeder in Portis, KS who sells puppies to petstores. When a USDA inspector refers to the place where the dogs are kept at as a shed and the area where the dogs live at as pens, specifically top row, then one knows the conditions her dogs are living in.
