    My mums lovely labrador Megan went in to be spayed a couple of days ago, a nice, easy, routine op right? Well, during it they found a large lump so decided to remove it and we have since found out that it is a cancerous mamory tumour :( Not what we were expecting at all as she is still young. But at least we've caught it early. She has two very large stitched up wounds from the two surgeries though so is feeling very sorry for herself. As my mum was out xmas shopping today I was roped in for Meg-sitting duties, so thought i'd share some very random photos i took today.

    Shall start off with Meg first

    And Logan now, after his bath ready for his show tomorrow. I gave him this chew as a treat for behaving himself, but he just wanted to play with it :rolleyes: So Meg had it instead :D

    @Lovelace: Really? What ones? I don't know of any that have all the criteria? I've done extensive research on the breeds, and i'm curious I don't recall any. I think Pat means lots of dogs have one or more of these traits. Those three things all together MAY be an indication that the dog does have some basenji in it…but not for sure. Because the dog could be a boxer/husky mix...and end up with right color/markings, pointy ears, a curly tail, and have wrinkle on the forehead (lots of dogs have wrinkles around the face). Rat terriers are notorious for looking like Basenjis...but the shape of their head is slightly different, and the breed was founded using some Basenji way back. Another thing to remember is that after several generations of mixing, all dogs tend to go back to a natural or pariah dog shape...squarish, brown, pointy ears, slightly curled tail...that is just the natural phenotype of "dog"...so a dog might end up looking Basenji-ish even if there is no actual Basenji there. I am not refering specifically to the OP...that dog does look like it might have some Basenji in it..or Rat terrier...but it is REALLY hard to say for sure. It doesn't matter really, because everyone is welcome here...Basenji, mix, B-look alike...welcome...

    @sharronhurlbut: Neat action shots. Thanks for sharing…bet they were all tired when you got them home. Yes!! really tired!!!!!!!! They slept almost whole sunday too :D @Kananga: You know I had the same issue the other weekend at the dog park. Kananga was very anti-social and growling a tad. I realized it was because of motion-sickness from the long car ride (I found out on the ride back…. unfortunately). So it made sense he didn't want to play. He was feeling ill. Happy to see Chafuko and Buana having fun with the other basenjis. :D It's possible, we often drive very long distance, he never acts ill, but it's a good explanation for his act!!! Thanks!
