Call your veterinarian and ask if it's okay if you go there once every other day or so, and just sit in the waiting room. Bring a treat you know he loves. Sit in the waiting room until he calms down and take the treat(s), then leave ONLY when he's calm and relaxed. Don't leave when he's anxious. If the veterinarian and the people who work there are okay with it, make them come and give him treats, praise, then leave. He should soon come to feel like this is a place where he gets treats and attention. At home, work with him on getting his teeth checked, his ears and the rest of his body. Once he's comfortable with this, put him on a table and continue the work there. The floor and a table can make all the difference in whether a dog is comfortable or not. Good luck!

So we were going out of state today to have easter dinner with relatives. When i left this morning i put simba in his kennel. that was about noon. My husband got home from work about 6pm (he didnt go to dinner) and he called me and asked me if i had left simba out ( knowing that i never leave him out) i told him no. Some how he got his kennel door open and spent what i assume most of the day loose in the house. But i am soooooo Happy he didnt get into one thing, everything was just the way i left it. I was so surprised that he didnt tear stuff up. i at least thought he would have torn the garbage apart but no. i am so thankful i didnt come up to a torn apart house!:D

Yea, well, maybe you can b proof the house and leave him out with a nice chew toy.

How do you know they sleep when you are not there?

What is really funny is when I came home one time way long ago and saw all these white things all over the living room…went into the family room and couch was totally gutted.
So, to be cute, I thru a throw over the whole mess, and cleaned up the carpet.
Hubby came home, dropped on the couch, and fell into the hole, to the floor.
I roared...with laughter...he was NOT so pleased...
I wonder why he has stayed with me for 27 yrs??? -
Sharon,

My 2 b's sleep when I am gone.I think that's what my B does as well. I swear every time I return, not a single thing is out of place. Not even his toys. He's usually stretching as I enter. He acts like he's just getting up from a nap on the floor, but I always can tell he's been sleeping on the couch (he doesn't know humans can sense heat). Funny how he hides that.
