Who is in the NYC area??

Off Topic
  • Kikou everyone!

The furry Lycia and I are seriously considering moving to NYC in the fall, I just wanted to know if there were any forum members in the area who could give us the skinny on the city and it's policy towards dogs, basenji meetups etc. Coming from a few years in Europe we think it will be a bit of an adjustment!

    thanks !

Sorry Lori, my friend is probably leaving San Fran about the time you will be getting there.

Hi Lori, I live in Redwood City (mid peninsula). There's an off leash area (Pulgas Ridge) in San Carlos I take Buddy to that's up in the hills near Interstae 280. It's big and the dogs have a great time. http://www.openspace.org/preserves/maps/pr_pulgas_ridge.pdf The off leash area. A meet up at Fort Funston would be a lot of fun. ?
Hi and yes there is a small group of us here in LA. We meet up on Saturday's around 10ish at the Laurel Cyn Dog Park. The park is a good size located on a hill side with lots of tree's and benches. If the weather is nice we average about 5 Basenjis. It would be wonderful if you are able to swing by one day. That area is lovely. We adopted Fiji from a woman in Oxnard, and I think there may be a breeder there. We do have a big basenji community here in San Diego - 3+ hours south of where you'll be - pretty long drive but we'd love to see you! :D
