The basenji and the christmas presents

    I'm almost done shopping, and even done wrapping. At an attempt to not leave everything to the last minute this year, I have been wrapping gifts as I get them. I even put them in a neat stack in my spare room, leaving the bows off so the cats don't eat them.

    I was watching tv the other day, and noticed the house was just too quiet… you know, that "eerie" type of quiet. the type of quiet you only notice when your B is getting into mega trouble. So, I ventured around to see what I could find.... and then I saw it. Tucker, on the couch, surrounded in wrapping paper, presents, and a downright adorable smirk on his face! he found my neat stack of presents in the spare room, brought some to the couch, and proceeded to unwrap them. thankfully he didn't actually open or eat any gifts, he was just interested in the wrapping....

    note to self: put wrapped gifts on a high shelf, inside a closed closet.

    It was really funny. we all had a great laugh. I WISH I had a camera on hand. ahhh well... they can be re-wrapped.

Someone there all the time, proper attention to training, not just leaving the dog alone, especially not as a puppy. btw, he won't bark at all. As you would know if you had really researched the breed. He will cry and scream but not bark ! No. At least you are asking questions but I really think you should find another breed.

    @melduff I for one think this is FANTASTIC news! You guys are so lucky! You have a one of kind super dog with the papers to prove it. Walks around the neighborhood and trips to the dog park are going to be very much fun... Friendly neighbor: Oh, she's so cute! What kind of dog is she? You: Thanks you so much.     I am with JazzysMom… I never barracade my tree... and we never did it when I was growing up either. The only thing my dogs do is eat the candy canes... so what... no different than the licorice I share with them! This morning, Cha Cha was chasing the IG back behind the tree and that was his "hiding place" from her. I do remember growing up that the only time anything was taken off the tree was when I would hang dog bones on it :D Now, who can blame them for scaling the tree then?? :eek: We have our presents on the dining table right now... only because I was setting up a "background" for puppy pictures and then if I move them to below the tree... where is Preston/IG going to run and hide after he steals the basenjis toys??

    OMG, TRUST me…its not only ur baby, Jack has some seporation anxiety, i mean, we rescued him so that may be why, but i Always feel so sad when we leave him, he runs to the window and crys when we leave, but i KNOW it wonly lasts until he cant see us anymore (driving away) my neighbor watched for me. but SOMETIMES he does get into things when we leave for too long. like the other day, when he ate my betta fish food...grr...
