@prasadvaze There are wipes which you can use instead of baths, I imagine most of them neutralize odors and have a fresh scent. Perhaps try those? Mine have always had no detectable smell except after I bath them, then they smell “doggy” for a day or so. Here are a couple of ones I looked up but I have never tried any. https://www.chewy.com/natures-miracle-spring-waters/dp/108468 https://www.chewy.com/tropiclean-deep-cleaning-deodorizing/dp/128836 What kind of smell / odor?

I use a little heavier emollient than vaseline (Aquaphor) and massage it in. It doesn't seem to rub off as easy as vaseline. The whole family uses it as well. Chapped hands, lips, etc..It works great, and faster IMO.

@agilebasenji: hmmm, soaking little basenji toes in salty water. good luck with that. glad he's feeling better though. I also had the same thought. It's always been a huge struggle for me to rinse off Duke and Daisy's muddy feet in a bowl of water (usually in spring from snow melt). Would appreciate knowing how you and Chance do it. ;)

you could use olive oil, also fish oil works very well, and flaxseed oil is yet another. there are other supplements you could add for a better coat too, minerals and vitamins. I'm fond of sea meal - contains minerals, vitamins, amino acids, and flaxseed meal. you should find out if it's truly just dry skin though. sometimes it can be cleared up w/ just a change in food.
