    The Basenji Club of Northern California will be hosting lure trials on December 2 and 3 at the Robertson Equestrian Center in Livermore, CA. This is the same field that will be used for the 2007 Nationals lure events.

    Hi, Try CanuckDogs dot com and look under the Prairie tab, then the lure coursing option. Alberta usually has a few events per year. I do not know when they will start again in 2011. Have fun!

    We're thinking about having another lure coursing fundraiser in November. It was so much fun this last time. Here is the photo album from the photographer. Zoni - she's a natural, can't wait to run her for real.     Hey dogstar42, I'm not in that exact area but the Basenji Club of Southern Wisconsin(http://www.bcosw.org/) has several activities every year not far from you, one of which is a Fun Day where everyone can bring there dog for fun and games in Rockford, IL. It's on July 11 this year. You should consider joining the club. They haven't updated the calendar on the website yet but if you look in the latest newsletter it has a list of most of the dates for the year. There is also a Chicagoland Basenji Club but I am not as familiar with that one. Clay

    As far as I can tell, there are only 3 clubs in TN that hold lure coursing events; Chattanooga Kennel Club, Maury County Kennel Club, and Nashville Kennel Club. You can get contact info for these clubs at www.asfa.org and www.akc.org. Chances are that your dog will enjoy lure coursing and it is indeed wonderful exercise. Only purebred, registered animals may participate in actual competition but most clubs are pretty friendly about allowing any dog to run in practices. My best wishes to you.
