Yay neither of the poodles won
Yay the hound group won
Boo the basenji didn't make it -
Whole-heartedly agree. How come the B's never win? It's rare that I see a B even win best in group!

Well it took since 1983 for a hound to win westminster. Perhaps in 20 more years a Basenji will win. There are enough beautiful basenji's to step up to that position. Perhaps the Brits are smarter a Basenji won Crufts a few years ago.

During the other dog shows that are televised, we are lucky if we even get to see the basenji.

I agree! I was so excited just to see the basenji on TV! Every other dog show I have watched they haven't showed one. I was excited to see it shown & even discussed (although not as highly as some of the other breeds)

Probably because most of the people mc-ing the dog shows don't know that much about basenjis. One of the guys who usually does westminster (can't think of his name right now) used to be a sports-caster! He usually has a lot of inane comments about the dogs.

That was Joe Garagiola (sp?) - and you have to admit he made it funny - he doesn't do it anymore though.
I looked in the records for the past 100 years and the hound group has only won 4 times total (counting this year). -
Yes, he was good for a laugh! I can't believe the hounds have only won 4 times. But, of course, I'm prejudiced.
