Anyone in the Point Mugu/Los Angeles area of CA?

    I just got back from Los Angeles about two hours ago, DH is out there on travel and I came out to visit the base. We are up for orders next summer and it was a great opportunity for me to visit Point Mugu and see the area in case it is a choice for us. Are any of you from there? It would be great to know that there are Basenji people out there already, that would make an easier transition for me if we get orders there.

    That area is lovely. We adopted Fiji from a woman in Oxnard, and I think there may be a breeder there.

    We do have a big basenji community here in San Diego - 3+ hours south of where you'll be - pretty long drive but we'd love to see you! :D

    Oh Fran, I am so sorry to read this. My thoughts, tears and prayers are with you. I know you love Barney dearly, but most importantly he very much knew that too..you made his life what it was, wonderful, loved and caring…now he is running free again, free from pain.

    Hi and yes there is a small group of us here in LA. We meet up on Saturday's around 10ish at the Laurel Cyn Dog Park. The park is a good size located on a hill side with lots of tree's and benches. If the weather is nice we average about 5 Basenjis. It would be wonderful if you are able to swing by one day.     Thats awesome! I used to do that hike all the time when I was a kid- never took a dog with me, though. I think the five mile loop hike is the one we used to do with school once a year. Wow- I really miss that!

    Hi Bella, We're from Frederick, MD, which isn't too far from the east side of WV. Shelby isn't a purebred B but she is a cute labrasenji. Where in WV are you? I also haven't seen too many basenjis here in MD. In fact most people don't know anything about basenjis and have never heard of the breed. This forum is a Godsend.
