Jack's Response to "Dog Park"

  • Here is what Jackers does EVERY time we say "Jack, wanna go to the Dog Park??!!" Do your B's do this too?? LOL, Its funny because we ONLY does it when we say "the DP" words as my hubby and I say so Jack doesnt get "too" excited. hahaa. WELL PLEASE enjoy AND let me know if your Basenji's do this and SHARE share!! hehee!!:D

  • When I ask her if she wants to see Keeley, my sister's Maltese, or Kim, and Kaitlyn(my sister and niece). She turns her face just like Capt. Jack, like they know what you are saying. We don't have dog parks where I live, but if I ask Sahara if she wants to go Bye-Bye she goes to the door, and I can't get her leash on b/c she is trying to get going. I take her to the Waterfront downtown and we walk around for about an hour and finish with a snack from a drive-in (Sonic), she loves their plain burgers. I sure hope you took Jack after that, he wanted to go bad.

  • he's such a beautiful & sweet dog!

  • Hollie is the exact same way. We too use the initials DP so that we don't get her TOO excited before we are ready to leave. When we get close to the park she starts kinda whining and whimpering!!! Too FUNNY!!

  • HAHAA Jack Goes CRAZY when we get to the stop light right in front of the "DP" LOL… he knows EXACTLY where we are!! (and YES of course I took him after that...lol, that'd be cruel!! lol) We had a GREAT time too!!

That is great… how is the training going? From a few of your other posts sounds like your work with a trainer is help loads.... keep up the good work.... and kudos....

  • so far so good…we are using a technique like the clicker but its a collar he wears and it comes with a remote that does a high pitch beep. and we use it with commands and to get his attention. he seems to do great with it. which Who would have thought...lol...

  • If I say anything about a "Walk" like you wanna go for a walk or should i take Helldee for a walk, She goes crazy with the same head movements but she also hits me with her front paws to get me going faster! :D have to get it on video. :D

  • **hahaa…Its great how they can "say" so much with their expressions!!!

---SO, there was a breakin in miliraty housing one street up from us, and now im kind of glad Jack is aggressive when it comes to strangers....BAD strangers. Makes me feel safer. He sleeps at the top on the stairs next to my room and his bed faces the front door. SO I KNOw when someone strange is coming into the house. Once when i had a family member (jack didnt know) over, they went out all night and tried to sneek in at 3 in the morning and i heard jack growl like ive NEVER heard before. Sounded like he would have killed...I called him to stop and he did, but now i know when a REAL stranger comes in, Jack with at least give me a chance to prepare myself...!!-----

Thats one thing Im thankful for with the recent breakins around here...and its unfortunate because ive always felt SO safe in Military housing...But its some group of teenagers that are Navy brats and live here too....yeay, not.**

@iris-shuman said in I would like you to meet "The 'Marvel'-ous Prince T'Challah" a/k/a Prince: Iris was born in December too Not much of a surprise when you think about it ! Basenjis in the Northern Hemisphere come in to season through September/October/November and whelp their litters November/December/January. A great many litters' arrivals cause the turkey to be put back in the oven on Christmas Day while the puppies are delivered ! Decrease the size of the photo and you will be able to show Iris to all of us. And do as Tanza suggests to Daureen - get her Fanconi tested.

First time i've actually managed to see this film though I'd heard a lot about it -thank you for the link, tlish. Not true though that they are/were used to hunt lions. Is it true that they were nearly wiped out in the US in the 80s by Fanconi or is that an exaggeration? Does anyone know who the Basenjis are? They look some lovely dogs.
