Hump day blahs….

  • Can everyone tell that I am totally avoiding cleaning my house? :)

I have been trying to find reasons to stay here at the computer…fairly successfully.....must go clean...must go clean.... :)

  • I know THAT feeling! Someone said "A clean house is a sign of a misspent life." Sometimes when I'd call my mother and ask her what she was doing, she'd reply: "I'm baking. I got the urge to clean my house and decided I'd bake until the urge passed."

I like that!!! Although….I don't really bake much either ;) and when I do, I end up making an even bigger mess!!!

  • Aww - I'm in here trying to detrash and reorganize the office. But the computer is on - keeping me from relieving the disaster before me that crept up over a period of time. I can hear the clock ticking - tick - tick - ticking away.

  • HA HA HA…well my cleaning clock has been ticking from 2 wks ago  I figured I would clean the kitchen & stopped there! :D

  • I'm feeling the exact same way…Must log off...must log off...

The only Linus reference I know of is Linus Schlumpberger (sp?) who runs the Operations at UPS. Yes, an entire wheel can be lost. It is the driver's responsibility to check lug nuts and look behind the wheels to be sure everything looks good. I was on I-15 in Utah a few years ago and saw two tires, still attached to each other in the median. About half a mile further, there was a truck sitting with a bare axle end. Also, some very few drivers carry their spare tire pre-mounted on a wheel. This may have been the case and the driver lost it off his catwalk.

Thankfully you kept your sense of humor intact! I'm sure it's all smooth sailing after all of that!

They shall grow not old as we that are left grow old: Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning We will remember them." [image: attachment_p_55635_0_flanders_poppy.jpg]

@mauigirl: I had 2 people ask me if I'm a Mom yesterday. Both times I thought to say "I do have 2 dogs…". It totally counts. There's nothing like picking up poo to show commitment. Amen to that!!!!;)

Our satellite got trashed too…the snow fell off of the roof and it's not a pretty site. We'll have to have it mounted somewhere else since this is the second time this season...and once last year too! Such a bummer...

I grew up in Indiana where they get lots of snow but here in Alabama people don't know how to drive in it. We're in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains and it's very hilly. Everything stops when it snows, schools close, etc. All they have to do is mention the S word in the forecast and in two hours you can't find a loaf of bread or gallon of milk anywhere. In March 1993 we actually did have the Blizzard of the Century and we got 21 inches of snow and ice. I got snowed in at work (I'm a nurse and work in a hospital) for 5 days. My son was 15 then and he was home by himself because I couldn't get there. He got bored and tried walking down the hill and the National Guard picked him up and took him back home!
