Since there are so many members on the East Coast, I thought I would post Rip Van Wrinkler Fun Match information. Here is a link to their flyer, http://www.apubasenjis.com/RVW_Match_June.17.07.pdf There are lots of activities available. I have never been but read the recap in Wrinkler and it sounds like lots of fun.
The link to the entry form is http://www.apubasenjis.com/Entry%20Form_June.07.pdf

I wonder if this is good for my B since he does what he wants and isn't quite trained.

One of the great things about fun matches is being able to get together with other people who have had similar experiences and are at different stages of that experience.

Oh, how I have wanted to go to the RVW fun match…but we always have something else that conflicts with it though. They are a group of GREAT folks, and they have so much fun. One year we will get our act together and head that way for the fun match.

never mind I was able to open it. Hope I can make it to this one though I don't know if Champ can make it. It might be closer to 3 hrs and I though it was maybe 1 1/2-2. Moments like these I hate living in the city. BAROOOOO!

I also just read on the bottom of the form..dogs with majors for exhibition only, except veterans. I would take it to mean only dogs that are trained. Well for all of you who do go please post pics and if you hear of anything else around my area (Queens New York) I would appreciate a forward.

Nope, not at all. Majors mean winning three or more points at one show. It has nothing to do with being trained or not. But, of course, it would be easier for you (and others) if your dog is under some control at a public gathering of dogs. And anyhow, that is just for the match….they conformation part of the fun day. There are lots of fun things like a veggie eating contest, and I think a costume contest. It is fun just to see the dogs, and talk to other Basenji nuts....you don't have to compete :)

Oh o.k I'm hoping I can convince my father-in-law to take the trip with us and make it a family outing. He loves Champ so I think he would like to see other B's. And yes i can keep Champ in control but he is a play freak!
