i used to take pet portraits for people. Got pretty good at making unusual noises to get the dog's expression. With horses, an umbrella slowly opening works wonders! But dogs, like kids, get bored quickly. In my experience if you don't get "that" shot in the first minute or so, you won't. But some are real hams and love the camera! Basenjis generally are very photogenic. π

doodle wasn't cooperating with her tail shot, so I had to recruit my son to assist (he held her still for the sheer torture)...
doodle's tail is most often referred to as a "Cinnamon Bun" -
@elbrant That is a Cinnamon bun. That's a great little tail. Both our girls seem to be wound a bit tight. I've found that a basenji tail is a lot like a paper clip. It can hold things... like a very flat thin fuzzy toy.
