Good luck in your search. I know members here will have some breeders for you. Also, you might consider BRAT or rescues. While puppies not that common, they do come along. Also considering older pups (6 to 10 mos) from breeders that didn't work out for show but would be great as pets will broaden your options.

Fundraising introduces unnecessary complexity and liability for Basenji Forums Staff, so we are very strict and sensitive about this subject regardless how long a particular member has been on the forum. Too many people get scammed into donating for various non existing causes and money gets stolen from honest good meaning folks on the internet all the time. When that happens operators of internet resources that host the donation solicitation inadvertently become part of the legal proceedings by people who are upset about their money being stolen for facilitating the theft. We have no desire or disposable funds to participate in that. We provide this resource free of charge to Basenji owners community. In return we ask our members to respect our rules and guidelines.     @BasenjiDiva: Wow, Vicki. Although we are down in Savannah, we also have a place up between Young Harris and Hiawassee. Maybe we could meet up sometime. Don't know how our little female hellion would do with your female though. Our male would probably be okay. Also would love to hear more about your petsitting business that you mentioned. When we are up there we would sometimes like to be able to leave for awhile without worrying about the beasties. I have two female Basenjis that are doing well together, but I, too, would be concerned about another female Basenji. Monday, I'm interviewing a retired older lady who pet sits and she will stay in the home all day and night, if needed. I need a dependable sitter, too. I often babysit for people who would like to go to dinner and get away w/o worrying about their pets. If I can't help you, I'm certain I can recommend several other dependable sitters.

    hi sharon. I feel like I know you. I have read your stuff on Brat. I am glad that you are getting the word out on Brat. Mabel, My B was adopted from there. I cannot say enough good things about people in that organization. Actually I'm in that organization. We are good people. Mabel's foster was very helpful with helping me understand her behavior. I think a lot of it was due to fact Mabel is an alpha female. Well just thought I would say hi bubsgram94
