It is well known that made in USA pretty meaningless. Always look for SOURCE. These days, if it doesn't SAY USA source meat, you can pretty much BET it is not. While most use some vitamins and stuff from other countries, if at least the meat is from a safe source, I'm pretty good with it. Of course, when it is JUST CHICKEN and sourced here… fine. :) short list of USA source: http://www.usalovelist.com/natural-pet-food-and-treats-made-in-usa/ Wow, just realize truthaboutpetfood…/the-2015-list/ now CHARGES a lot for their list. Um, no. This is pretty good http://dogaware.com/diet/dryfood.html Colorado Natural only sources usa I am pretty sure. And I love Salmonears. http://www.salmonears.com/dogs.html They are my go too healthy treats. Have known the owner for about 20 years, he taught me more about training, health, nutrition and raw than anyone in my life. No I don't get a discount if you try them, but you can say Deb sent you so he knows. For crunchy and good omega, they are my dogs favorites :) LOL bears like them too: https://youtu.be/CH6mKLs9xm0

LOVED that Sharron! I sent the link on to my sister and threatened that I am going to teach her Chow some of the tricks - I like the one where the two GS walk beside the guys and sit on cue. Hmmm… I might be able to get my cat Barney to do that. He's the one that already shakes a paw for a treat.

What I find most telling about this article is its insistence that animal intelligence should mimic that of humans or be measured by blind obedience. Cats do problem-solve and communicate as effectively as dogs, but not in ways these scientists would like them to. We can reference the numerous stories of cats saving their families from disasters like fire: http://www.clickorlando.com/family/5998305/detail.html ; http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=105x5994906 ; http://www.catchannel.com/news/2008/10/16/cat-saves-family-from-fire.aspx These are a few among many, many stories of cats doing a great service to humans. We also cannot forget the service of cats during the European Black Plague, which was caused by fleas from rodents. Cats are equals to dogs, just different. I am a fan of both, although I have usually chosen to be a staff member for a cat rather than a dog owner for most of my adult life. Good article. thank you for sharing it, NDO.

I saw this show for the first time last night. I didn't think it was sad, because the nice doggy gets adopted into a home where the people have been evaluated and dog is placed with people who are best suited for the individual dog. It's like a reality game and they all know only one home gets the dog. The people know they might not get that dog. But I'm glad that the people who don't win on the show, will probably adopt and rescue another well deserving dog. Just my take . . . but I only saw the one show.

Hey my Basenji boy Gibby is startled everytime he sees a mirror. I really think sometimes he has no idea what he looks like as he sees more humans than other dogs! Lord knows somedays I am sure I will look over and see him walking across the room on the 2 hind legs as he so curious about things above him…I do know that is one handsome Grandson and CONGRATS!
