Picked up these little ones yesterday. I can't wait to see what colours they will be! Aren't they cute!

Adorable. They remind me of when I was little and I got to pick out a different color of chicken when we bought other laying hens. Good luck with your baby ducks!

They're adorable, I've always wanted I see a baby duck in person…it just so happened to be my first word (duck)!! Are they yours to keep?? What kind of care do they need?
As you can tell, we don't have anything around where one just owns ducks...so I'm very curious

Yes, they're mine to keep. I also have a variety of chickens this year-Brahmas (yes, they are huge, but the biggest weenie's ever!), EO's (a spanish type of chicken) and Easter Eggers (they lay blue eggs).

That's so neat, baby ducks and baby chicks are so cute…I have a thin for ducks, don't know why but they're so darn cute and look like little goofballs walking around quacking!

Wow, blue eggs….lord only knows what Oakley would do if he saw chickens, ducks and eggs!

I would probably have a few dead birds! LOL I know from experience. Shadow slit one open from side to side. Needless to say, dogs are in the front pen where they can't see the chickens in the back pen!

Almost her entire life my daughter has declared her desire to have a Scottish highland cow. Now she wants a fluffy chicken. Please do not show her your ducks, lol. I love ducks too, but have no ability to have them. Thanks for sharing.

It's that time of year for chicks and ducklings. My local farm supply store has crates of fluffy yellow chicks in every day or so. They are so cute, but I'm sure the incessant cheeping would drive you insane after awhile. And of course they don't stay cute for long! In no time they turn into gangly adolescents and lose their charm. Cutest thing I've ever had on the farm are goat kids. They are adorable, and so playful! :)

I'd love to have a couple of fainting goats and mini donkeys as well! Goats are sooo cute! but them my daughter would never get her own place!

...Id pay an admission fee too see that bunch and to get to hold a baby duck!! I wish we had more farms around here :(
Closest we come is Rehobeth which is rural and full of horses, most of the roads they'll also have a horse lane....but nothing you can go visit and see. Along with a baby duck of also like to hold a piglet--> have to add those to the bucket list! -

LOL baby goats are cute, adult ones, not so much. Been abused by too many to want one. Mini things… lol, my friend had a horse farm and Paso Finos mostly (I think about 8.. she taught horseback riding). Anyway, she bought this mini burro and one of the Pasos decided it was her baby (it was an ADULT), and treated it that way forever. My friend said she didn't think he liked being herded and treated like a baby, but he probably appreciated that his protected his ass. (A little burro humor there.)

Donkeys are good protectors as well.
Here are some updated pics of the ducklings from today. They had their first swim and a sprinkler too! The one in the last pic has spraddle leg. I've got him fixed up for now. We will have to see how he does over the next few days before I decide what to do with him further.

I have new loves!!! They are so darn cute it hurts…I like the yellow and brown one with the light beak and orange feet (pic 4, farthest to the right).seems the rest that have yellow and brown have dark feet and beaks....he stands out! What's spraddle feet?

spraddle feet is when the ligaments inbetween the legs stretch out. The duckling can't walk because the legs are out to the side. To fix it (hopefully) I have cut a piece of pipe cleaner (chenille straw) and wound it around the legs to bring them closer together so it will heal. Hopefully it will only take a few days. If not, then unfortunately, I won't let him suffer. He probably slipped and stretched the ligaments.

Oh no…poor thing...I hope that he heals, let us know his fate...
Who would have thought I'd get so attached to ducks! They're all adorable and hope that you get to enjoy them for a longtime
