  • My name is Angela. I have a mix puppy I'm trying to identify the brindle breed in. She will be bigger than a basenji, but I was noticing a few things. Like her mouth is smaller(if that makes sense) than an average dog, or maybe my dogs have big mouths! She isn't much of a barker, she can, but chooses not to. Took 3 days to hear her bark! Her tail is straight. Oh….and her name is Roxanne.

@Nancy-Berry The saying is a very true one... when people ask how your dogs are with children, say "It depends.. how are your children with dogs?" Toddler Leora got her little legs smacked more over the dogs than anything. Not training your child to respect dogs, to understand that a hurt dog can and probably will respond, ... well it puts your child and dogs in danger.

I think they just look solid so my mind saw "bigger." I have one of the Wimaumau rescue giants (44 pounds), but even my 2 previous gals were far from petite... about 26 to 28 pounds. My dream of a petite 18 pound basenji just never happened, lol.

What a sweet face! Thank you for taking her in, she needs a forever home. As Pat indicated, unless you have info on the parents being clear, or at least one clear, she should be tested for Fanconi asap.

Her name is Mattie and she is a real sweetie. My son brought her home from a mission trip in Appalachia. She has become my shadow and we just can't imagine not having her around.
