I certainly think we can come up with a list of things we think make a bad and good breeder in general, though.

My bottom line for a bad breeder is someone who doesn't do right by the dogs/puppies they have.

Debra, I like your idea about two lists. There will never be 100% agreement on anything (what is bad, what is good), but if we keep the goal in mind, which is education about basenjis, perhaps we can come to some acceptances.
I'm going to say something, and it isn't about anyone on Basenji Forums at all, it's a general life statement. If we can try to keep the human ego out of the equation, and concentrate on ensuring both new and repeat basenji owners have good tools to work with, then we are truly caring of the breed.

Fran, that is an excellent post. Lets look at this from the prospective of the dog!

We could do it section at a time, starting with health testing. :)

Which honestly has been done a number of times on this Forum… just do search for the threads.
And beyond that these threads including the one that was shut down was about the new imports being accepted into the stud books.

Sharron, this entire discussion was first based around the admission of stock into the stud books. Each and every time the threads were hi-jacked so that no real discussion could be had by the group.
This particular topic has been covered over and over. Just search the threads
