Not a happy bunny today
I went into town earlier to the pet shop and took Maya along for the ride. While i was there i thought i'd take her for a run along the river so she can get a bit of exercise. She's never been there before so i thought it would be nice for her to have a change of scenery. She was having a lovely time chasing the ducks and having a good run when a very large dog that was further up the path noticed her and came running over. He was huge, looked like maybe a mastiff x great dane. Very big and charging full pelt at tiny Maya  The owner shouted something about him being friendly so i didnt pick Maya up as she is used to larger dogs (plays with rotties, dobes, danes most days) and if he's friendly they she would probably want to run around and play with him… Anyway, all went a big wrong He literally jumped ontop of Maya like he was pouncing on something he was going to kill! She let out a scream as she got crushed which set him off barking at her, I managed to grab her as he was jumping on her, just up and down ontop of her with his front feet barking at her, teeth bared  Maya was terrified when she was on the ground, but once mummy had picked her up she got her fiesty attitude back and got very angry. He was jumping up at me trying to grab at Maya at this point with me just punching him away each time (he caught my arm, but only as he was trying to grab Maya) and Maya was so angry, screaming and snarling at him, she was so mad!! Finally the owner came over and said something about Maya obviously not being friendly  Yeah, she's not once she's been jumped on, hurt and barked at  So, she put him on a lead and started walking in the other direction and i put Maya down and she went trotting on up the path, no harm done. Anyway, within a few mins i hear the woman screaming, then the bl00dy dog appears again out of nowhere, barking and jumping on Maya again! I think Maya did bite him this time when he jumped on her which i dont blame her for at all, she was just screaming!! The woman retrieved her dog again, and as she was leaving an older couple who had been walking just behind me told her she had to get her dog to training classes as it doesnt come to her when she calls and he "attacked that little terrier twice" She just stormed off saying something about him being a rescue dog as if thats an excuse...
Thankfully Maya doesnt seem too bothered. We continued our walk and she met a very large Greyhound. She was a bit wary of him at first when he came over and she had a little growl at him, but he was very gentle and friendly and they were soon running around playing. So, im glad it ended on a good note, but i am certainly going to be very wary if i walk my dogs there again, he could have seriously hurt little Maya!!
