1948

  • This little film is great and pertains to what's going on now more than ever! That guy selling "ISM" looks like Barack, that disguise with mustache doesn't fool us. Thanks for posting this!!

  • I didn't even notice that until you pointed it out!

    I'm such a dolt sometimes!

  • We watched this in class last year. It is still one of my favorites.

Let me rephrase that "looks and acts like Barack".

  • Is it really from 1948? Seems a bit too convenient. That said, I forwarded it to someone who will reply asking where it came from, be shocked when I tell him, then happily send it to everyone in his address book.

  • Yes, ma'am, 1948. I was just as stunned. The wisdom of our forefathers and mothers…

  • How do you find this stuff!!

  • Wow. that was utterly terrifying even on round 2… I saw that in AP US Gov. class and we were completely mortified. The sheer amount of bigotry and simpleminded imperialistic ideals displayed is abhorrent... the seemly innocent/childish cartoon depiction only adds despicably of the lie... shudder Nature was so kind as too offer us a sweet cleansing sorbet of society, more commonly known as death. bye bye 1948.

    Huh???

  • kids today!!!

  • Did Fox news just hijack the basenji site?? It is interesting that the dark skinned guy is the bad guy. Typical. And, all african americans do not look alike and this guy looked nothing like Obama. Also interesting that the automobile industry was, hence the word was, employing 1 million people. Silliness. That is all I will say since I come here to get away from this political crap.

I cannot imagine committing to buy a puppy without seeing the animal and if possible the sire and dam. OTOH, a rescue (or adoption of an older dog) is a different thing. My last two Basenjis came to me sight unseen, and turned out to be wonderful dogs, but the breeders I got them from wanted to place their dogs in an experienced Basenji home, and I only paid the cost of getting the dogs to me. One came by air, one was personally transported to me by his breeder. If she hadn't been happy with what she found I expect she would have taken him back with her when she left. I also had to commit to return him if ever I couldn't keep him. Good breeders care about where their dogs end up.

@sanjibasenji Thanks for the article on Dog Genome Project - I found it very interesting. I was trying to figure out the interactive Genome wheel. It has the basenji closely related to the Azawakh and rat terrier but I’m still trying to figure out the first wheel which has the basenji listed w/ black/grey starting point. As far as the PBS Dog Tales video - it’s very interesting - it’s season 47 episode 2 - I highly recommend you watch the whole thing (54 minutes).

@Kembe, nice post! We've gone to solid food chopped up in a food processor, but we're grinding it a bit more course as we go. So far, no puppies are choking, but good to know!
