Yes, my husband suggested I find homes for the cats instead, but one cat I've had for 13 years and I love him dearly and the other is young but so shy, I'm not sure she'd find a good home. I think it will be easier to find Rowdy a good home, at least I hope so. Today he's been a good boy. This is hard.

I remember Beta who was a tri, laying in the sun near some florida pams and it was really sunny. One of those days when the leaves were bright but the shadows were really dark. I couldnt see her! She completely camoflaged into the scenery.

I suppose the red basenjis can camoflage into a sandy setting?

Thanks for your replies. I guess in the spontanaity of the moment I did as I do with my other dogs, a no and then a quick taking the thing away since I'm boss and I'm the owner of everything ultimately. I do believe Rowdy was not being the bad growling type bite – he took his front teeth and nipped at my arm, pinching it, but it hurt!

I will try to work on the "leave it" command, since I taught that to my mom's poodle and it worked well. Rowdy is smart and is finally getting some of the house rules down. Though he's sneaky when he isn't resting beside you and you forget to watch him... 🙂

Haha, yes I get it! He is so funny. He also has my trick figured out where I step outside to make him go out and then step back in real quick. He doesn't like that and can't be fooled now. Smarty.

A Boxenji is a great big goof of a dog who had an affliction called HOD (Hyper trophic osteodystrophy), grew up with Basenji's and think she's one. You should see her run along the back of the couch-absolutely hilarious. She also yodels.
