Transport help

Basenji Rescue
  • Hi-
I am BRAT's Basenji mix coordinator. I am desperately trying to transport a 9 month old Basenji mix pup that was pulled from a TN kill shelter. She will be moving from her foster home in Cookeville, TN to her forever home in Lexington, MO on either October 9 or 10 (hopefully).

Whether the run goes along I-24W through Clarksville, TN or along I-64W through Bowling Green, KY before heading through IL and MO will depend where the help is.

If you can help on either route I would LOVE to hear from you, please let me know: giza1@wildroseinternet.ca and also indicate which day you could help, October 9 or 10. Thanks much.

    Joanne giza1@wildroseinternet.ca

Some things cannot be fixed. I urge you to get a qualified behaviorist (veterinary) to evaluate him. If he is truly unstable, rehoming him is not fair to him or the new home.

Sometimes as a rescue person, the kindest thing we can advice, or do, is give the dog peace of the rainbow bridge. I have had to do that in the past…thank heavens, not for years. Its never been something I have done lightly, but I have never felt it was a wrong decision. The only decision I could do to give peace to the dog...
