It is difficult to give up a dog one has had for over 4 years! I lived in an apt. in Houston and I know that unless you walk the dog frequently or have it go to doggy day care and dog parks, the dog will not get enough exercise.
I agree, BRAT does get in pairs and ask they be adopted together plus BRAT works really hard to ensure placement are suitable and going to good homes. If your looking for a basenji savvy home them I would say "yes, getting the fanconi test will help getting them placed"…anyone not savvy or not caring to know about basenji genetic conditions won't care if theyre tested or not)
I called the shelter at 4:35 p.m. EST today-Friday and they were still available. Perhaps the shelter which is open on Saturday will adopt more out then it will take in!
The shelter is located SE of Louisville, KY-about 100 miles, SW of Lexington, KY-about 100 miles and NE of Nashville, TN-about 130 miles.
The shelter is open 11 a.m.-5 p.m. CST, Tuesday-Saturday.
We shall see just how much hekp this little guy really gets from this forum. I called and found out that he was a puppy back 04 when he was adopted from Wayside Waifs and now family has a baby why no longer want him. She said the boy sometimes gets like to be a little stronger over other dogs. I do not care what people think of me or were Jaycee came from it's not me needing help its the the little guy. Actions have always been stronger than words.
Gald to see Otis is well and happy.
