One year old/male, needs Basenji friendly home.

    I am writing this thread to offer you a chance to bring home Baroo. He is just over a year old, and although he has not papers, he is throughbreed all the way. He is very independant and a little stubborn. He thinks he runs the house. I have enjoyed his company as long as I have had him, but with the new baby, and me working all the time, he gets a little restless. I want to give Baroo a happy home. If anyone is interested please write to me, and we can work out all the details. thank you.

    Sorry he is not working out for you. Contact BRAT at basenjirescue.org and they will be able to help you out. I am so grateful to the family that put my squiggy up for adoption when they realized that they didnt have the time for him anymore. He now has all my time and love.

    Please make sure that any animal you sell has been spayed or nuetered.
    These dogs can end up in the puppymill sector and its a hellish life for them.
    If your rehoming, please, make sure your dog goes to a good home.
    Its the very least you can do for a family member you have loved.

    I would take her in a heartbeat if I had room.. unfortunately I'm pushing my limits with my father already, as I've saved a few cats while living with him again. She sounds like a wonderful dog. I have no doubt that the bites were provoked. Dogs, especially Basenjis, can be very sensitive. If you don't understand that you're dealing with an animal that has feelings too, you're in trouble. I will keep her in my prayers. May she find the best fur-ever home!

    Jennifer, I meant Pam the breeder here in MA… I figured this might be one of her boys because of proximity to each other... If this is an Eldorado boy then Pam will definitely want to intervene and get the dog back. I emailed her the link and she will deal with it if it's one of hers.

    @sharronhurlbut: Nemo, BRAT will take him, but lets see if the owner will turn him over to BRAT first. Bless your heart for the offer. He's not asking for much, so hopefully there is a good chance of that. I think he just wants the dog off his hands.
