The last puppy-Caliro is already in new home, so we have our "normal" number (4) of Basenjis at home :D.
I'm missing all puppies, but at the other side 4 are 4 and we have more calmness at home now :D:D.

Kim, if you want I'll send you pup from next litter (summer 2011) haha :D.

  • Irena…just curious, but what is the makeup of your pack of 4 - meaning how many boys and how many girls?

  • Wow….....look at all those reds. It is like floating on a cloud of basenji's. I wish I had a cloud as well :(
Must be some sort of bed you have to fit all of those in and you :D

Actually two sleep with me and two with my parents (with my mom rather :D). But sometimes when I have them all in my bed it is a little bit uncomfortable. They used to be sprawled out and when I wake up I find out they have all bed for itself and I was sleeping on the edge of bed :D.

  • @irena:

    We have 2+2 :).

Thanks…It is nice to see them all together like that. What are their ages?

Boys: Geasy is 9 yrs and Masai 17 mo
Girls: Abanda 6yrs and Buju 2 yrs

They are great pack and they love each other :). Buju is big fan of Geasy, she is really funny with it. She could yodels to him all the time :D.

    A few pics

  • Love the new pictures. I notice in one of the pictures that you have a little space heater near the pack. Oh how we cater to our animals! We put on the fireplaces on when are cats are lying near them. They love the heat, especially at this time of the year, as we have not fully blossomed into true spring weather.

When I took this pic with heater we were having puppies and we warmed up their room with this heater. Of course Bs lay next to it all the time :D.

  • I've just found this one. Little Abanda lying on Geasy :D.

If it's up to me we will have more than 2 Basenji's :D
I have three breeds that I want to add to our pack, but also I'm happy my husband knows how to use his brain haha (when we move to a farm, I really want to add a doggie friend :D )
    So maybe 2011 :D

  • Such great photo's. I really love the last one, so peaceful.

LOL I still remember poor Mukat, my Rottie who really ran away from puppies in all stages. she was minding her own business laying in the hall and Awen saw her. She turned around and began BACKING down the hallway, turning her head to look ocassionally. Mukat's face expressed HORROR. But what could she do with dignity? It wasn't really LOOKING at her. It wasn't REALLY doing anything threatening that would justify her fleeing. Plus, to flee she had to go PAST IT in the hallway. So Arwen kept backing. And backing. And then she got right next to her and sat on her. If only I'd had my camera. Poor Mukat. She just stayed totally still, praying it would move eventually.

well, not really a bed, but its what he uses, and its often times me! he has a nice big crate with two very large dog pillows in there, but no, laps and anything inconveniencing for me is a lovely place to nap. here are a few examples. [image: Img_0195.jpg] [image: Img_0181.jpg] [image: Img_0183.jpg] heating vents of course [image: Img_0196.jpg] strange place… [image: Img_0419.jpg] and of course, chow chows make wonderful warm fuzzy pillows! [image: Img_0318.jpg] and of Course! the almighty sunbeam [image: IMG_0258.jpg] enjoy! ~Char

Nala ate her first bed like that! We got an outdoor one and she would lay on it and not chew it, but then my brilliant husband put it inside a wicker basket - she ate the basket. Now we have an enormous bed from Costco for inside during the winter and out on the porch during the summer. We buy the beds like that at Wal-Mart for $10 so we can just toss them if she digs or chews them. So far, so good! She's awfully cute!!
