It is the most beautiful day today, bright sunshine and very warm, so we're currently sat out in the garden making the most of it. The dogs have yummy rib bones to munch on so they're happy! I thought i'd share these pics i just took a few mins ago :) Excuse the state of the garden, its spent much of the last couple of months under water as it has no drainage at all and they've been doing building work behind my garden!! But, im finally starting to get it sorted.

Ruby is happily chattering away to the neighbours and enjoying the sun, she hasnt been outdoors properly before so she is loving it!

That's what a sunny, warm day does for everybody - pure enjoyment. Looks like everyone had a great time. Regarding your parrot, how does your basenji react to the bird? We have a couple of ****atoos that do get outdoor time in the summer. Does the bird bring out that 'get the prey' mentality in your basenji?

I was wondering about Maya and Ruby too. Does Maya interact with Ruby? I had a neighbour with a rescued Barn owl and much to my surprise my Basenji bird hunters interacted well because I think, Misty (the owl) acted as if she was just one of my friend's beagles

Maya is pretty good with the birds. She will sit on the sofa with me and watch them fly around and she wont try to go for them, as long as im there. I would never trust her with them unsupervised of course. She didnt really pay too much attention to Ruby in the garden, only a couple of times when Ruby was shouting that Maya actually went up to the cage, she nudged Ruby's feet with her nose but whenever Maya gets too close Ruby will shout "Maya, NO!" (she's heard me say it plenty lol) so Maya soon goes trotting away from the cage very sheepish!!

Wow, your pug allows Maya to get awfully close to her slab of ribs! The more special the treats, the greater the radius of the 'danger zone' around here!

Didn't mean to leave Mr. Riley out…he's very handsome as well. :)
Love that, "Maya NO!" That has to be hilarious...do you have that on video?

Ummm, well Delilah was growling at Maya in those pictures with the bone  Maya tries to push it as far as she can but knows better than to steal things from Lilah - pug bites hurt :D
I dont think i have a video of Ruby telling Maya off, i will have to try and catch that on video one day, i always miss the best bits :D
