    I work for Montgomery County, Ohio and park in the garage attatched to the administration building, daily. I have seen a white pickup truck with a "I love my Basenji" bumper sticker nearly everyday. So, I assume, (don't say it), that you must work for the county. Just putting it out there, do you check this site out??? If, yes, I would love to meet you. If not then all is for naught then.:)

    I suggest you leave note on the truck, the owner may like to meet you too but not be on this or any 'groups'.

    My DH bought me a plastic tag-surround that says "We love our Basenjis" and hopefully other basenji folks will see it and leave me a note!

    I have a Basenji shopping bag and when i use it i make sure to carry it so the pics can be seen in the hope that anyone with a Basenji will speak to me. Never happened yet though.

    Yes, leave a note! I would be so excited if someone left a note for me about my Basenjis or any of my dogs.

    I'm convinced, I'll leave a note. I'm not usually that forward but if its another basenji owner…..I can tell them about this site and we'll probably have many stories to tell.:):)

    Just an FYI, I actually started this thread just B4 I was off work for a week (Sorry). I'm back now but haven't seen the truck again….yet.:) Still planning to leave a note. I'll see it again soon, I'm sure.

    Hi @Vesna, it’s interesting you say that about the spay. Our tri-color actually just got spayed this week and her coat shed before that. I noticed small amount of black hair growing in where she shed, hopefully it grows back. What phase is your tri-color at? Did this just happen?

    Ah ok cool thanks, I had something like that when Safi was smaller and it was the most successful for sure. She outgrew it quite quickly though

    I can't listen to that, it would wake my girl up and well... I'm not into a "sing along" just now. ;) I will say that many canines howl and yodel and bay (at the moon, whenever a fire truck passes, etc.). I'm not certain that any one breed is distinctive enough to have a sound all their own, but many a proud owner would probably assert so.

    We use ones from Rukka. Not sure if they’re available everywhere but they are they best ones we have tried (others always fell off, especially in deep snow). I think having two Velcro closures on each sock has been key. I also prefer the soft shell ones as our B seems to accept them more and they don’t twist as much as the ones with a hard sole.     Not taking sides since I have no experience in this matter; just pointing out: @jholsing mentioned... he has a basenji MIX. His dog may be more tolerant of the suggested set up? However, 8 hours is quite a long time to leave any dog alone.
