Santa Clause

Off Topic
  • Alright, does anyone else think it is crazy that Santa Clause is already in the mall and it isn't even the middle of the month yet? Personally I think that he should not be in the mall until after Thanksgiving but that is just me.

I just had to vent because I was at the mall on Friday and could not believe that Santa Clause was already set up there.

  • yep crazy and confusing to the children! (after you have had a talk with santa, you know that he knows what you want and you still have to wait!)
i am going to try to avoid the mall until after thanksgiving.
i always avoid "day after thanksgiving mall shopping" and stay home and put up my christmas decorations. it was my parents tradition, and it seems like a good excuse to stay home and out of the madness! in all fairness, i did send my husband to bestbuy at 4 in the morning one year…lol.

I fully agree with what you said….Right after Halloween....we skip Thanksgiving and go straight for X-Mas. It drives me crazy. It feels as though you are being rushed through the rest of the year. Personally I would like to slow it down a bit and just enjoy the rest of the year. Has anyone ever seen a turky in the mall around Thanksgiving???? That would be a sight to see :D

I agree. But it isn't all after Halloweeen. I took my mother to a doctor appointment a week before Halloween and the doctor's office was putting up Christmas decorations already! :(

@JENGOSMonkey I WAS THERE FOR '89! I was a kid, but I remember the water coming out of the swimming pool in huge waves and everything falling from the shelves! I was actually born in San Jose, but moved around a lot later LOL I hear the wildfires are more of a concern for you guys now? That's scarier than quakes for me...

I cannot imagine committing to buy a puppy without seeing the animal and if possible the sire and dam. OTOH, a rescue (or adoption of an older dog) is a different thing. My last two Basenjis came to me sight unseen, and turned out to be wonderful dogs, but the breeders I got them from wanted to place their dogs in an experienced Basenji home, and I only paid the cost of getting the dogs to me. One came by air, one was personally transported to me by his breeder. If she hadn't been happy with what she found I expect she would have taken him back with her when she left. I also had to commit to return him if ever I couldn't keep him. Good breeders care about where their dogs end up.

@kembe - Very True Kembe, here is a link on looking for a responsible breeder. https://bconc.org/finding-breeders-red-flags There are many scammers out there, don't fall for one.. or a person that is not a responsible breeder.

@Kembe, nice post! We've gone to solid food chopped up in a food processor, but we're grinding it a bit more course as we go. So far, no puppies are choking, but good to know!
