And cy.. you made me pie!

  • Hello Marianne,

    Welcome to the forum! :)

  • Hello and welcome!
You have beautiful dogs. I like Ibizians - my friend has (had:( ) two, one of them was Rosenhill too.

  • Thanks everybody for the welcome :)

@ Tiva: sorry to hear about your friends ibizans, did the ibizans of your friend die? what were the names of the ibizans? ( pedigree ) sorry but I am always curious ;)

  • Yes, male died 2 weeks ago. His name was Rosenhill's Bourbon Philemon Cochet. The other Ibizian is a young female (1 year old) from Sweden. She is also rough haired, and she is now the only Ibizian in Slovenia (well, here is also smooth haired female rescued from Spanish shelter, but she is probably not purebreed).
In Croatia are now 3 young males (all smooth haired), from Finland, Germany and Hungary, and one litter brother of "Hungarian" male is in Serbia.;)

This is photo of Anuk. He was really a great dog. :(

  • HI
yes I know that dog, that is Eli's litter from 2002, so he died really young :( may I ask you how he died? was he ill ? was it an accident?
    oh how terrible :-(
the wire female your friend has, is she from "el cruzado/ madrozicas? "

the 3 in croatia, which are those? I guess a Necronomicon/ First Dynastys and a Sol d'or or maybe Bohemia Balada? just curious :)

  • Anuk was ill and vets couldn't help him. Yes, female is "el cruzado/ madrozicas". German boy is from kennel First Dinasty, Hungarians are from Sol d'or (Abrazo is in Croatia, Amigo is in Serbia). Finnish male is actually from Spain :D His owner is from Finland, she is living in Croatia, so we "named" her dog "Finn". ;) Right now I don't know from which kennel is he (I am still looking for that information).

    Edit:
Finn is Sultan d'Antrilles from Spain: http://www.dantrilles.com/
    German boy is Desperado: http://www.windhundwelt.com/d-wurf-alle.html

And I heard cute story about Solar and little bird (was it duck?). :)

  • yes now i remember, it is Abrazo from HUngary, I know the owner of Sultan ( actually his pet name is Don ;) )

    thanks for your information!
and yes it was Solar and a little duckling :) so cute, I think she still hates me for taking it to the bird shelter ;)

@Nancy-Berry The saying is a very true one... when people ask how your dogs are with children, say "It depends.. how are your children with dogs?" Toddler Leora got her little legs smacked more over the dogs than anything. Not training your child to respect dogs, to understand that a hurt dog can and probably will respond, ... well it puts your child and dogs in danger.

What a sweet face! Thank you for taking her in, she needs a forever home. As Pat indicated, unless you have info on the parents being clear, or at least one clear, she should be tested for Fanconi asap.

A tired Basenji?!!! Joking apart, I agree with the previous posts. It is really important that she doesn't get something for nothing as Wizard advises make her work for it. Welcome to the Forum to you,Teagan and the others.

Thanks, I will pickup some SAM-E at the store today, I had no idea what dose! I hope Pete has a comfortable time with you, you are doing everything to keep him happy. My friend's mastif-dobie mix has very high liver enzymes, she is 10 and otherwise looks great. She is slowing down, sleeps a lot but has good appetite, etc., he opted for no more tests (at her age, he would not put her through any treatments other than meds). She loved the liver-cleansing diet, is back on regular now and taking Sam-e; like you, he is just hoping for some good quality time with an older beloved dog. Hugs to Pete!
