A friend of ours talked to the woman with the 7 month old female today. The original owner was older, got her from a shelter (as a Jack Russell) and she was just too much energy. The current 'foster' took her to help the original owner, but she has several other dogs, the basenji has already escaped once. She has chickens, etc., and her husband wants her re-homed soon. I saw a (poor quality) photo and she looks pure basenji but has one drop-tipped ear and barks occasionally, she is intact still. No one I know is up for a youngster like this, but we are asking around. If anyone out there is interested,I'll help with transport.
Two B's at Tacoma Humane Society - Sharron?
-
Sharron, does your group know about these two at the Tacoma Humane Society? Not much info - can't tell if they came in together.

Yes, they won't give them to us.
They are $100. to adopt both and they said they would phone me if they weren't rehomed from the shelter.
I also told them to give my contact info to anyone who did adopt them…so I can share info on b's.
Sigh -
Oh, I meant to add, if there was anyone in Wa state who could open their home to this pair, it would be wonderful indeed.
I have the shelter into and would be happy to share it off line.

If you can go adopt them… -
Sharron, do you know anything about them - age? Are they a pair?
-
They came in together…they are nice house dogs, seniors breaks my heart 10 yr old and just looking for a soft place to land.
I imagine they could be seperated, if there was a basenji already in the family..
Sigh.
Oh, if I ever won the lotto, I would make sure these type of senior dogs had a soft place to be.
Course, as b's are a long lived breed, its possible to get 5 or more years from this pair. -
Oh, what a shame - sweet old things. Hope someone needs this pair. I'm like you, if I ever hit the jackpot I'd have a (bigger) houseful.
-
Yes, its a shame the family wouldn't step forward to take the dogs.
But I am seeing that more and more. -

SighIf you had the $100, would they give them to you?
I'll send you the $100.
-
Sharron, I sent you an email.
Also, I emailed the shelter to see if they would accept a credit card payment if you can take the dogs. -
Just learned from the shelter that the two dogs were adopted by a local family in Tacoma. Great news.
-
Oh, that is great news! Thanks for the update.
-
Oh, I hope they gave my contact info like I asked them to.
Yea!!! for these 2 b's.
Thank you for telling me and your kind offer.
