I have a couple of kid who are fairly gifted artists – I wish I could get formal training for them. I think the talent is genetic and skips a generation. My dad was an amazing artist in woodworking and oil painting. Me? I still draw stick people and even they are questionable!

  • They're both beautiful….Congratulations!

  • Wow! Very nice, congratulations to your daughter. Is she planning to go to college and do something with art?

    No, she just tinkers.
She thinks she wants to work with the elderly.

  • Occupational Therapy?? That is a great field for working with the elderly and she could definitely work art in there too!

    Regardless her work is lovely!

  • Art therapy is something she might like, along with Occupational or physical therapy, both good fields to work in. Both drawings are excellent, you have a right to be very proud!

  • Do you think I could get your daughter to draw one for me of Sahara? I think she is quite good, and I would pay her for materials, shipping, and of course her talent. I could send her some pictures of Sahara and she could draw from those. What do you think? Since you homeschool, that would be a great art project for her. I homeschooled my son from 5th to 9th grade, one year he helped me with a ceramic natavity that I was doing in ceramic class. It turned out great, it has many pieces and he painted it white, and I detailed it in 14 carat gold. It will be his one day when he has his own family.

@Natalplum: You both are in my thoughts. I hope your DH comes home safe and healthy. You will NEVER be lonely with your B's around. They are the best to call on for some love and comfort. Not to mention a lot of laughs! That's the best thing having a B brought into my life. I was so depressed, and then along came a B to make me laugh again. Worth their weight in gold, for sure….

Yes, they also have to at police academy here. She's hoping…hoping...that having it done now, she will not have to later. I doubt it, but you never know. She tried the milk thing and said it really didn't work. Some info we got suggested canola oil {absorbed the pepper} followed by a wipe down w/alcohol. She didn't want to try that. Spent the night w/bags of frozen potatoes and veggies on her neck and chest, LOL. She was doing okay today; her biggest problem was that her eyes are still irritated and she forgets and rubs them, which is uncomfortable. Also, based on her performance last night, she was asked today to consider taking special training in female defense training and to begin to work w/a female sgt. on doing work w/that on campus - demonstrations and training. Pretty cool.......:) If you met her, you'd never know she had it in her. She's 5'7", maybe 130 if that {and very pretty, of course;) }; You'd think she's all about hair, make up, and shoes. She's living proof that girly-girls can kick butt! :D She's gonna surprise a few bad guys in her career, I'm sure! LOL
