    So I really admire people who have Basenji's and children!!!!

    Here is what Nike and Mia started doing:

    I have 3 extra bedrooms that I just keep the doors closed. Nike has learned to jump on the handle (it's a door handle and not a door knob) and open the doors. Then he gets Mia to follow him in there, they jump on the beds, mess them all up then leave, then go on to the next bedroom and do the same thing!

    Seriously, it's like having 2 6 year olds just up to mischeif all the time :D

    LOL…mine have taken over the spare bedroom, they hate when we actually have guests in there!

    B's are like having 2 yr old kids, IMO.

    I also think B's are the smartest or at least very cunning might be the word I am looking for. When Mia wants to go out, she goes to the front door, takes my sneaker, comes to my desk looks at me straight in the face and when I tell her to drop the sneaker she pursues to run to the living room lol…You have to wonder what goes through their minds! I swear when they sleep they really are plotting ways to get into more trouble lol....As i type this they are sleeping and they look so adorable, it almost makes me forget about all the happenings of the day, but then i look at the messed up beds lol....:D

    Dallas does that "come get me mom!" with my socks/underwear/flip flops/etc. It drives me nuts! Haha. He will of course stop once he realized he isn't being chased. These dogs are certainly full of personality :) Clever little creatures!

    I have two kids. A ten yr old and a six yr old. Kaycee truly believes she's a kid as well. Whatever they get up to, she's right in the thick of things. God help me when we get the other baby B.

    @Natalplum: Shannon~Thank you so much for the offer. You are an amazing and caring person for even offering. It means so much to me and my family. Without any hesitation you would drive half way and meet me. This alone is an amazing act. I will never forget your kindness. My husband's cousin has offered to take our B and he has another dog which would help. Val Hey no problem. Glad you could find someone you know and who is closer. That will definitely work out better for you. Have a great trip.

    @Gooby: Goober stole all the other dog's breakfast and dinner yesterday now he won't eat his dinner, has diarrhea and just threw up. We know he is very sensitive to his food so could this cause it? Also he had a new brand of wet food yesterday. And this is another good reason for feeding it crates and taking the food away when you let them out

    @jys1011: It's really sad that people can be so ignorant & generalize characteristics over an entire breed…:mad: That being said...can you imagine how owners of pits, rotties, or dobermans feel. I'm sure they get ostracized all the time for having their dogs. However, there is no need for people to be down right rude! If they want to stereotype that's their business but show a little RESPECT & above all some MANNERS! YUCK! I would have purposely said something obnoxious (Oh please lady...I only feed my dog "quality" ingredients lol :D ) but that's just ME :D I can be pretty sarcastic when people offend me on purpose. And nasty remarks against my precious pooches...oooh god help those people!! Ha, ha…love the comment. I have heard comments like the one the OP was faced with...just not that many in one day :( I do feel that more and more dog people are realizing that Basenjis aren't nasty...they are different. But it does baffle me when people need to say such rude things outloud. Maybe we don't have that kind of folks around where we course because Dr.Tracy would kick their tushies! ;)

    She-Ra goes to the door, then looks over her shoulder at us. Problem is, sometimes she's playing a game with us, where she just wants to see if we'll get up and open the door. We're putting a stop to that by putting her out forcibly if she starts to walk away so she knows if we get up to open the door she's going out. Period.
