Dog tag question..

Basenji Talk
  • i ordered from 2 new tags from Boomerang tags, thanks for the suggestions!

  • Ninabeana26:

If you can find someone with a grinder, I think the bone tag could easily be modified to look like a football! Just grind the bone lobes down to a smooth arc, and voila - Football!

The petsmart in my area has brass tags that you buy and an in-store engraving machine. But the stainless steel may be a better option since the brass has been dented (and flared) a little on the side.

  • Hm never thought of that! Thanks for the suggestion! :) I actually found a site that does engraved logos on their tags & so I could get a football engraved on the one side with his info on it. We'll see though!

@crazysenji said in Question about ID tag information: I don't think more than a number is necessary personally What if your dog got out while you are unavailable? Cell phones occasionally are out of range, run out of batteries. A 2nd number could keep someone from saying forget it and dumping in a shelter.

In your position, where you really have to take her out a lot, I understand. And I hope her comfort continues. My point was it is situational need, not dog need to be that social. :) I have a slim chance of that having worked with my current 2, but with my incredibly dog aggressive first one, I'd have been out in a basket muzzle and warning everyone to keep their dogs away.

Well, the lab I mentioned (chocolate overweight one) almost took me out by slamming into my knee. I commented loudly " he better not insure my knee!" No comment from the owner. Others were keeping an eye on this over exhuberant dog too. Many peeps were standing behind a bench for protection. What really bugs me is that the park has very visible signs when you enter it that say you must have control of your dog.

Well I had my first Consultation last night with one of the dog sitters. I really liked her. She works part time as a vet tech and part time as a dog sitter. I liked that she has a vet tech degree, and is comfortable with canine first aid/CPR. I would hope that all dog sitters are trained in this, but now I know to ask about it in the future. She walked in and was so surprised to see a Basenji in Oregon (She is originaly from Florida). We had a great hour long consultation. I reallt think she may be the one I go with, but as this is my first time needing a pet sitter I will go through the other two consultations before making up my mind.
