I was reading the site that rated dog foods
I read the review of the food we have been feeding our dogs for the last four years and they did not really like it.
Wysong allergn Lamb & Rice- he seems to do pretty well with it but, after the review I am wondering if we can do better?

The first ingredient in this food is a named meat product. However, it is lamb inclusive of its water content (about 80%) and once that is removed it is likely that this ingredient would be more accurately placed somewhat further down the ingredient list (ingredients are listed in order of weight). There are no further meat ingredients in the food.
The first two grains, which likely make up the majority portion of the food, are decent quality. Oat groats are cleaned oats with the outer hulls removed. The next grain, however, is filler. Rice gluten is likely to be similar to corn gluten, for which is AAFCO definition is “the dried residue from corn after the removal of the larger part of the starch and germ, and the separation of the bran by the process employed in the wet milling manufacture of corn starch or syrup, or by enzymatic treatment of the endosperm.” In plain English, that which remains after all the nutritious bits have been removed.
We note the use of soybean oil in the food. Soy is a poor quality source of protein in dog food, and a common cause of allergy problems. Some believe that it is the number 1 cause of food allergies in dogs (outstripping even wheat).
Our dog also seem to react to beef & turkey. Chiken & lamb he seems fine with so far. We tried fish & patato and he either did not like it or reacted to it. Also he has had salmon treats he seemed fine with.
My question is has anyone else heard about soy allergies and what do other people recomend if they have similar problems?
