We are thinking Spike might be a Basenji Terrier mix. He definitely has the basenji personality and the bark. We love him no matter what he is but we are curious.
We also have a possible Basenji/Terrier (Yorkie) mix. I've had some doubts, but seeing this picture of Rosie, I can't help but see my Rebel. Such a great looking dog, and if she's anything like our girl, you're in for a treat!
OMG soooo cute. Her colouring and face don't look like a basenji, but maybe she's mixed with something with stronger genes. Do a DNA test. That would be fun!
Thanks for saving a life ! I agree obediance is definitely atypical of a basenji ! The mixed breed dogs are the best most of the time. I have 7 dogs all different breed mixes except for my George who looks like a pure bred Basenji.
All of my dogs including the basenji are rescue dogs (and not from the shelter !) Found on the side of the road rescues!......Thank you , glad the dog found a good home!

I don't see basenji in your rescue - she is a very cute doggie, and there very well may be feist in her. A DNA test would tell you everything and it's a good investment; it would help you know her personality traits and identify her behavior as well.
The traits you described are also found in most of the Nordic/spitz type dogs. I don't see anything overly basenji-ish about him in the pics. What ever he is, he's very hansome.
Oh yeah, he looks way more like a b-mix to me than a lot of the pups listed as basenjis on Petfinder. And they mention he's not a barker. What a cutie! Someone go get this guy! :D
