It is difficult to give up a dog one has had for over 4 years! I lived in an apt. in Houston and I know that unless you walk the dog frequently or have it go to doggy day care and dog parks, the dog will not get enough exercise.

I just got a dog into my rescue in NH. I was told it was a Shepard mix, but it's definitely a Basenji mix. I was also told she was a calm, easy dog- and although is sweet she is definitely high energy! The only way she looks different than a basenji is she has no white on her chest, the face ears, tail, and wrinkles are all there.
Buttercup really needs a foster or forever home that has Basenji experience. The foster home she is in now is not equipped to keep her due to her energy level. Obviously any home will have to undergo a homevisit and reference check.
