    Okay, had to leave that up on my post because it is Kipawa's attempt to communicate with all of you by smashing his head on the keyboard. He just hasn't learned his punctuation very well yet. But I will help him out with what he was trying to say: We so wish that there were basenji activities in our area. :( It sounds like it's going to be a very fun time. :)

    yes . i just use the cat box with the dog litter you can buy in the pet supply from chewy.com thank you for the info

    Kipawa does this as well, and also prefers to do it with dogs that have a longer coat. I've never had a problem yet, but I do watch carefully. If Kipawa starts going a little overboard, I redirect with a treat, or I will also tell him "time out". Both work for us.

    I definitely thing all trainers are different, this one we have now is not doing some things we learned when I took Otis for OB training, but then again he is doing some things we didn't do then. We have one more class/graduation next sunday then we are off to intermediate as well.

    @agilebasenji: Could you put her in a pen behind the counter? Or section off an area for her. That way she could be with you, socialize, be the store mascot but not be out in the store where she could slip out the door. i dont think that hub will want to change the disposition of things…she'd just learn how to jump over the counter as soon as she figures it out!!!:D

    I've hiked off leash at numerous areas here in the SF Bay area. They love it! Any there was only 1 area that was a problem with ticks. To me after 30 years hiking with them it's the best way to establish a great relationship with them. There's no two ways about it, Basenjis love hiking adventures.
