fiour basenjis are using a cat box the breeder started this when they were babies we just kept it up hope this helps

@bea I litter box train my babies also, but don't use clay litter.... but sure it is litter for dogs....

yes . i just use the cat box with the dog litter you can buy in the pet supply from chewy.com thank you for the info

@eeeefarm: Been there, done that! It gets tiresome after awhile. I even wrote a Haiku about it: Stupid f**king dog has not peed this morning yet and I want breakfast! Gotta love 'em - LOL. I can remember thinking your haiku quite often when Shaye was little. Once she learned it though, it was solid, no forgetting.

The cold probably made her stiffer than usual, so a small misstep might cause a fall. Glucosamine kept my old girl going for several years, good luck with your oldie.

I started with a cat toy with a pl bag tied on the end to see if they would be interested before i went any further. The I used an old fishing rod with rope tied from there. Kind of worked the same as a lunge whip. (I'm too cheap to buy one if I don't absolutely need one)
