Housing: B friends in the Bay Area?

Off Topic
  • Hello all,

My two Bs and I are moving to the Bay Area (peninsula or San Jose) in June and want to find someone with a spare room to rent. A household with other Bs would be perfect!

If you have friends/associates in that area who might be willing to chat with me about housing, or refer me to someone that they know, please feel free to send them my email address. My intro and photos can be found at http://www.lori-stephens.com/SF.
    Thanks!

  • Lori, I am no where near you - I am in the suburbs of Vancouver, BC, but if I needed a roommate I would take you in immediately. Your bio rocks!

  • I sent your post and bio link to a friend who lives with her long term S.O. in San Francisco, they have a 3 bedroom, 2 bath home. They are pet-less currently, have had her beloved husky, and several cats. She used to live in Seattle, then SF, then lived in Sequim so you have lived in similar places. She is a physical therapist and teaches classes all over the country, also very outgoing and friendly, articulate, funny.

I have no idea if they are interested in a housemate, but thought I would put it out there for them (Sara & Paul). She has been thinking about getting a basenji, by the way, so would give them a chance to be around them!

  • Sorry Lori, my friend is probably leaving San Fran about the time you will be getting there.

HAHAHA…CUTE! I need to show this to my vizsla, maybe he'll learn how to cover himself instead of standing next to me whining until I get up and raise the covers for him. Yes, he has me trained well.

@saba: Very sad… Hollywood has a lot to answer for . Funny story here though... Our Australian early morning breakfast show was doing a story on the Chihuahua, (I cant remember what it was about...), and the female anouncer called them Chee hoo-a hoo-a :eek::o:o... Nothing was said, till after the next commercial break when the male presenter, (who looked like he knew she had really fluffed the pronounciation :D), came back on and apologised about the pronounciation of the breed, and it was called, Chihuahua... The naughty cameraman pans across to the female presenter, who was laughing so much, she had tears rolling down her face, and couldnt speak for about 10 minutes :D. I would love to have been in the studio when it had errupted into laughter about the way she had pronounced it :). NICE! I have a little Mexican hairless Chee hoo-a hoo-a! :D

There is someone right down the road from us who owns two minipins - my b's get along just great with those dogs, so AJ probably will be happy with a new playmate!

Good to know about the Vizslas.. really lovely dogs - I met one at my Vet office the other day and he was a truly stunning dog. The owner told me they are super up for hiking which was a major plus. Gotta love our dogs who keep our toes jumping, heheh! Looove the Shiba-Inu story! I have been wary of the Shibas cause I have met more than a handful - and none of them turned out to be very nice with ppl out side of "their ppl". I was afraid they might be too sensitive for my lifestyle, but they are soooooo pretty!! With those coats! –if you make it over you can bring your BW =) heheh! This is just a random side comment - but in looking at a bunch of different breeders, I'm surprised that so many of them don't describe their dogs temperaments/behaviors etc. They talk about their breeding programs but not much about the dogs - seems like every real Basenji breeder's site has a page devoted to 'WARNING!' curious owners to be.. heheh! although I read this on a Husky breeders site and I had to laugh: "Left unattended for long periods of time can lead them to seeking something to take the place of that lack of attention. They may even tear something up." rephrased in Basenji terms: Left unattended for long or short periods of time will lead them to seeking something to take the place of that lack of attention..They will utterly destroy a variety of objects in your house, this is to be expected. Deal.
