    Hi,

    I jsut found this forum and it is great. I have looked in the past for something in this format as mail lists and yahoo groups just do not do it for me, plus they seem to all get filled with spam.

    My wife and I have 2 basenjis, Lion and Tigger a female and male from the same litter. We are soon to be getting a new puppy, in about 9 weeks.

    I will post some pics in the show off forum.

    Thank you one and all for the warm welcome, it is nice to be among friends who share the same affections with the B's. I posted a photo it is next to my profile, I'm so new at this thread thing I still can't figure a lot of it out . . . Also welcome to the newbees also . . .     Welcome, from another Ohioan. We are on the north side of columbus and have 1 r/w boy. We have occasionaly taken him to the Westerville dog park but his behavior has not be great lately. We have cut back. We also help BRAT transport and foster. Great to have more B's in Ohio. I see so few of them in Columbus.

    First off, Welcome to our site of valueable Basenji information. I have learned so much linking into this site, we have lots of laughs as well. My B, Sahara, crosses her legs all the time, she is such a showoff and often has the regal queen look. I love the look myself, they are such beautiful dogs I must say, not that I am partial or anything. Your Piper is so cute, welcome again.

    Norm, My b will chew almost anything allowed he has gotten better i've had him for 2 yrs he's 3 yrs the shoes are no longer allowed in the house they go in the hallway otherwise they are his lol any remotes, phones, and anything else that has any value that i need i always put up high so he can't reach it Mine is addicted to bottles if he see's a empty bottle anywhere he doesnt stop till he gets it and can put his little love bite in it lol If he see's a full bottle he leaves it but not a empty one anyways all i would say is just put things where he can't touch them that pretty much the only thing i have figured out that will work with his little addutude and the bolting i got phoenix to wait for a treat before he thinks hes going out so he doesnt bolt unless he sees a animal or something outside other then that he just sits and waits for his yummy lol the only bad thing about it is that i always have treats in my pocket lol :D Good luck

    Welcome Vanessa! We got Joey from a breeder at 10 months. Joey is really our first dog, had a weimaraner for 3 months, and we think Joey is the coolest! At first my husband said, that is a cat trapped in a dog's body, but I know differently. I had many cats over the years. My hubby thinks he is a great dog now. So do all the friends we had over for a party a week ago. They can't stop talking about him! We get so much enjoyment being with Joey and I love to hear my kids (5 teens) LOL when Joey is at one of his antics.
