Great news!

Received an email from the ASPCA in Walker, LA about a young (1-2 years) Basenji boy they found. They were inquiring about our Juan who went missing in April and the lost pet ad I had placed on Petfinder. They sent me a pic, it wasn't Juan, of course (he's 7 now), but they did say he's up for adoption. Does BRAT get involved in these types of cases?
Medfly Brigade Basenji Rescue will try to get him if Karen has the room. You can notify her of the boy at http://www.basenjirescue.com/.
Brat can help, if Medfly can't.
Is there a website to view this R/W boy?
I would think that Louisiana would be a bit far to get him to Medfly. Can someone contact the BRAT coordinator who covers Louisiana and let them know he is there?

Opps, I misread that as LA as in Los Angeles, not Louisiana.:o Too far away for Medfly but I'm sure there must be a Basenji rescue volunteer near by.
I informed the BRAT folks, so fingers crossed they can help.
I originally thought Los Angeles, too.:D
Wow…I love his ears! They give him so much character.:)
Thanks Sharron for contacting BRAT..
I sure hope he finds a great home.
We sure have had a lot of b's coming in lately. I so hope it slows down soon.
I hope it slows down makes me so sad when I see another one but I do love the happy ending. He is a cute guy hope he gets a home right away.

Just curious Sharron as to what are the biggest factors?
I would just be guessing.
My top guesses are not doing the homework to find out what b's are like when you live with them.
Also, I think folks just don't have the $$ to either tend them, or lose their jobs and have to move in with family who doesn't want them.
Those are my guesses.
Thanks so much Sharon. I hope BRAT can help Frankie; I have this sinking feeling that someone would see how cute he is and adopt him without knowing anything about Basenjis - and there he'd be, in rescue or a shelter again!
