Someting new..

  • Pretty kitty - I'll bet it wasn't the cat's idea to give the bed to the dogs. My cat still wants to kill my B, and tries all the time - of course if the dog would stay away . . . .

  • LOL ! what a hoot.

    hahaha poor B's…

    The cat's the boss here!
He plays with the boys and he teached the dogs to blink. (cats blink with their eyes to say "it's good, I won't harm you and you won't harm me)
From the start, the dogs also blink at us... the learned that as a pup from Spaik...

And you know.. Spaik the cat won't sleep on a new bed before the smell of the dogs is at it.. :D
So I first put the bed on the floor, the boys gave their smell to it and I put the bed on a place were the dogs AND the cat sleep and yes.. Spaik took it...

  • Those are great pictures but one sitting on the other is the best I love it. Very pretty kitty. I needed a laugh this morning.

  • That's too funny! Basenjis love cat beds and cat perches too. What a beautiful cat by the way.

  • OMG.. that's hilarious!! :D Crazy boys :D

  • :D:D:D Brillianr pics, i love them.
    Poor Spaik, those cheeky boys!!!!

  • What a wonderful series of photos..great big smile from me on this one!!!

  • LOL poor cat having his bed stolen, at least he is the boss and can take it back when he wants :D

  • Great photos - I couldn't stop laughing :D

  • Hehe, its seems that boys are really enjoying Spaiks present :D.

  • I love this series!! I think we need to convince BRAT that one month of their calendar should feature a picture of the literal translation of Basenji brat behavior (*: child; specifically : an ill-mannered annoying child ) That last picture would win for sure!!

Hate to admit it, but I've never purchased a BRAT calendar. I certainly would if they were all "brat" pictures. Funny and candid. (No disrespect intended toward the current BRAT calendar pictures. They're lovely)

  • Re the post about all being rescue dogs. Some folks have show dogs, and also open their homes up to basenji rescues.
The photos are all submitted and folks can vote on the pic they like the best..no names and no pressure.
Its a great fund raiser to help basenjis in need and I always buy 2…one for the house and one for work.
Again, the $$ all goes to basenjis who need help.

Otis, or should I saw my Dachshund Gus, thinks stuffing is unnatural…the animals should be sold without them, and squikers (SP?) too. Both of them love the animals once they are limp, unstuffed, just the stuffed animal skin...that is when they are the best..In Otis' and Gus' humble opinion..

@weeziesmom: I have tried chew bones to curb his chewing however he tries to take weezies and they fight over them You can teach him to leave hers alone. Make them both sit for their chew; give hers first and make him stay with you when she dashes off to chew. {helps him see that she gets one/he gets one, and also gives her a head start!} Make sure he knows you have one for him also. He must sit and make eye contact with you before he is given his treat. Once they both have a chew, make them stay in different spots. Stand between them, moving your body silently to block his attempts to get to her. If necessary, tell him "no" or "leave it". It shouldn't take long for him to learn that he gets his and she gets hers. Eventually, he will just look when you hand her the treat and will sit and stare at your face until he gets his own, then he'll run to his own spot to chew his bone.

Great looking dog in some good looking threads! I have yet to successfully get Hollie to wear clothing. I am seriously considering a raincoat and booties. Cleaning and drying her gets tiresome.
