    Dear Debra, Thanks for the notes and looking up options nearby. We had already written to the Swiss basenji email address, but didn't get a response. We'd be willing to take him to nearby countries in Europe for the right fit. Perhaps now we will try writing to the other countries' basenji groups. He is such a lovely dog, and we want a good situation for him. He has come a long way and is much calmer now that he's a bit older! Cheers

    She is now fully sponsored to any rescue that takes her! I assume this means the $100 adoption fee is covered which includes her spay and vetting! If anyone knows a rescue that could take her, please let them know!     Dear Tekkster, you really should have experience, or else the many problems that arise from an untrained human result in a very fustrated Basenji!!! If you want entertainment, I just happened to have recently run into a lady with two hairless dogs. Talk about being entertained! The care needed is just like your own skin, lotion and sunblock, and putting clothes on them is recommended! Read the treads on this site and BRAT. Sooooooo many B's are given up by untrained and inexperienced humans! Good Luck in your search!

    Here's what I know: 2 bites to one foster mom. The first was over chicken, trying to take it away from him. The second was over going into the crate. I have not seen any aggression over the crate unless you're forcing him in, he goes in great with a little treat, and now we don't even have to do that. He sleeps in the crate and goes in there when he's not supervised or we're not home. I think she needed stitches for both, but she's older and disabled.

    Thank you MacPac. I contacted 2 breeders in the Gainesville-Ocala area but they don't have any available at the moment. We'll keep looking. Thank you everyone for the great suggestions :)
