  • Goober stole all the other dog's breakfast and dinner yesterday now he won't eat his dinner, has diarrhea and just threw up. We know he is very sensitive to his food so could this cause it? Also he had a new brand of wet food yesterday.

  • Unless you find something else that he got into… I would guess that is the cause...

  • So here's the deal. about 2 months ago we lost 2 cats within about 6 hours of each other. One was hit by a car the other had gotten into something in my basement (goober doesn't go in there). 3 days later our 15 year old poodle had spinal problems (after some steroids she was OK). Now, if there is anything wrong with any of our animals I go crazy. My wife and I cannot have children without medical intervention, so for the moment our pets are all we have.

  • Well, if you are that worried, then maybe a trip to the Vet is in order… however most (and please note I say most) time these will clear up in a day or two...

  • @Gooby:

And this is another good reason for feeding it crates and taking the food away when you let them out

@buxton-s-dad I remember tracing your boy for inclusion in the database on line and finding two further siblings from that litter. So - this morning I went back to the AKC website and discovered two more from this litter have been registered - so I have 5 in all from the 6. They will all appear this evening after I have finished entering all the incoming OFA test results !

I have two females and two males that live together without problems. I have another female that has to be separated from the other two females and can only be with her male buddy. So I've had to separate into two packs. I have a mutt(short legged basenji:D ) that has seen all the basenjis come into the fold, four of the basenji's I trust around her two I don't. They're all different IMO. Male and female pairings seem to just work out the best. Raising them together as pups up's the odds for success, but things can certainly change as they get older. I too have flown with a pup in a Sherpa… one thing, be sure that they have a not been fed right before... and also the longer you can keep the pup awake, the more likely they will sleep the entire time. I kept the pup up and playing for at least 3 hours before the flight... and I do mean playing hard.. (I was pretty tired too...)I also did a 5+ hour flight, no accidents. But a friend of mine had a great idea... and it does work, take along some puppy wee/wee pads... you can go into the bathroom, put down the pad on the floor and let the little one go... however with as short of a flight you are doing, I doubt it will be necessary....
