Logical, not "chicken little the sky is falling" thinking. Thanks DonC. I hate companies being gutted without evidence.
And I agree, if I had dogs - especially prone to the disorder -- on just grain-free, I might switch for added protection.
@Ellusionz:
I've just swapped my dog to Wellness Core. It's high in protein which I was told is really good for the basenji breed with how active they are. Also grain-free. But they say it shouldn't be fed to dogs younger than a year. They sell it at Petco. There's also the regular Wellness that Petsmart carries thats been rated just below the Core. I researched the ingredients in the brands on dogfoodchat.com
I thought about going with a high protien …. i'll deff look into that for next time after this huge bag is done :)
The truth is all dry dog food has been processed and heated to death as to make it a poor food item no matter how good the ingredients are. Just look at it. That dry, crunchy pellet was actually meat, veggies, etc at one time.
lvoss: "I highly recommend a long walk with the dogs while the food cools because mine are constantly asking, "Is it done yet? Are you sure it isn't done yet? I think it might be done."
I don't have to be "cooking" anything for Gossy - she jumps around asking those same questions when I'm making anything - even when it's "my" food. :)
HAHAHAHA…....Basenji's in coconut (maybe walnut shell) bra's. I see it in my minds eye during one of those kangaroo boxing type matches my 2 get in when they are playing--standing on hind legs and slapping each other up-side the head!! Hips and b. tails wiggling within grass skirts. What a video that would make.
Sorry, back to topic. That food looks great. I'd also like to hear what those out there think.
