@eeeefarm - Totally agree with both of you, while I don't do the "restrain the pup", but if it works great and in a pinch it does work for me if really needed. When we have pups (babies) and Mom is tired of them and puts herself in a position that they can't reach her, they turn to the next adult in the house.... same thing will happen if they get over excited and yes, I have seen Basenji Moms, pin the pup to the ground and/or other adults in the home.... so it is something that a pup understands. Walking away works for me... or I try to change up the "game" by turning to working their minds and getting them to think about other things. In the Basenji Breed this is another way of teaching them that the prior behavior is not acceptable. They learn pretty quickly. Thanks for posting this thread eeeefarm... well needed...

It is good muzzle???
Here I have problem with coursing muzzles… Sightound`s owners muts to buy Pro-coursing muzzles in other countries. And there are rare too... -
I find the one on the pic is a bit tight, I like my dogs to be able to open their mouth to breath !
-
And what do You think abut this muzzle??? It is good???
PS. New pfoto with muzzle in "Show off your dog:D"

Eos is using a size 5 and Timbo a size 6 (they look like yours) , if it helps!
-
It is 5. Have You got this same muzzles???

Almost the same! But I can't find any good pics to show you! :o

The dog in the pic you linked to is my girl Rally and she wears a size 4 because anything bigger bumps up into her line of sight and she will not run. She is also the one with a negative association to the muzzle.
Here is a pic of boy Nicky, he wears a different style muzzle that all my other dogs find much more comfortable and more difficult to get off.

Here is a website with a picture of the muzzle not on a dog, scroll down to the bottom. They unfortunately only come in one size so are somtimes a little big on a petite girl.

For racings. If I want licence- he must runs with muzzle. I try to learn him but I won`t to do mistakes…
What I do for training them to wear the muzzle is go to the trials (or races) as we have practice usually after the trial is over… I start putting the muzzle on then for just practice.. and that is usually after I run them without one to see what their level of interest is in running.. if they are keen to run, the muzzle will not make a difference... and they begin to learn that the "muzzle" means "running"... all good things...
