I bought that book/CD and it's some pretty nice music. Can't say if it works or not because I leave as soon as I turn it on.

HAHA I have a different situation, my husband usually HOGS the bed and steals all my space and tries to share my pillow with me! I love it when my basenji sleeps in bed with us, because my husband stays in his spot! Is that silly?

Isis is darling! By all means do a 'well baby' visit with your vet, and order the DNA swab for fanconi, huge peace of mind. I had a wonderful Isis many years ago, I love the name!

I think everyone who decides to have these little furbabies has to make a conscious decison that housekeeping is going to fall by the wayside in some areas. . . for instance it's not real easy to keep carpets nice and clean when they drag their treats and bones all over it! We just vacuum and count on getting in a professional cleaner a couple of times a year. Other than that, our friends just have to understand - we have a Basenji!

I am pretty sure the spinning was an initiation rite 😉 I have never heard of that before…but I can just imagine you saying 'well, ooookay' 🙂 Hang in there, it is always hardest with your first show dog...try to have fun!

That's exactly what I said but it was right after I said "Seriously, you want me to do what?" 😃 The judge was a long-time basenji breeder so I figured she knew what she was talking about.

@Quercus:

I guess the moral of this story is that you will meet some jerky judges while you do this, and you may feel embarrassment and shame in their rings…but you will live through it, and be able to laugh later. The behavior of people who wish to shame you says more about them, than it does about you 🙂 my inspirational message of the day.

Thanks, I like that inspirational message. It's a good mantra for when I get a jerky judge. 🙂
