Ah!!! Paper Shredding

    So about two months ago my husband woke up to find that the puppies had dug out of our backyard. He rushed outside and was wondering where to look for them when he saw shredded toilet paper on one of our neighbors lawns. They had gotten out while we were asleep and raided the neighbors trash only extracting the toilet paper and shredding it in the typical basenji fashion. Luckily we live in a fairly nice small town and someone had brought them to the animal shelter about 5 minutes away and when we called they were already there that day. At the moment it was far from funny, but now that they seem to have ceased their digging ways it really is quite funny how they were enjoying the forbidden.

    Ah yeah though the site that I saw clearly had a picture of a Basenji representing the breed! Your link, they look nothing like Bs

    Ah ok cool thanks, I had something like that when Safi was smaller and it was the most successful for sure. She outgrew it quite quickly though

    I can't listen to that, it would wake my girl up and well... I'm not into a "sing along" just now. ;) I will say that many canines howl and yodel and bay (at the moon, whenever a fire truck passes, etc.). I'm not certain that any one breed is distinctive enough to have a sound all their own, but many a proud owner would probably assert so.

    I keep a box of shredded paper in the corner for Gossy to throw around (easier to clean up than TP and tissue) and a box of unshredded newspapers for her to bury bones. Initially the boxes of paper were for recycling purposes (I weed out the bones on recycyling day) but they suit her purposes as well.

    Not only is Zelda already showing great skill in toilet paper theft – she has enlisted Sagan the cat in her mad schemes. We put the toilet paper up high, and Sagan knocks it down for Zelda to grab and shred. Good thing they are so cute. Little beasts.
